When I Grow Up...

I hope to be less confused. Right now, I'm really puzzled. Am I supposed to be cute or scary? Sometimes people smile when they see me, but other times, they seem a bit nervous. I guess it's because I can be a little spooky with my big horns, and someone once told me I have a 'resting Baphomet face,' whatever that means. And everyone keeps saying, 'embrace the duality,' like it's something really important, but I'm not quite sure what that means. Am I a monster or a friend? Can I be both? Itโ€™s all very confusing. Iโ€™m just trying to figure out where I fit in. Maybe when I grow up, Iโ€™ll understand better. For now, Iโ€™ll just keep being me.

Baphomet (ba-fo-met)

Aliases: Sabbatic Goat, Goat of Mendes
Native Name: Baphomet (Medieval French)
Timeline: 12th century, popularized in 19th-century occultism
Location: France, Western Europe
Culture: Medieval folklore, Christian mythology, and occult symbolism

Baphomet is a symbolic figure often depicted as a goat-headed deity, representing the dualities of human natureโ€”good and evil, male and female, above and below. Initially appearing in accusations against the Knights Templar during the Middle Ages, Baphomet gained notoriety in 19th-century occult texts as a symbol of balance and esoteric knowledge. It has since become an icon in mysticism, frequently misunderstood as purely demonic but originally meant to embody harmony and the unity of opposites.
